You've probably heard of slab leaks and the high expense they cause. A slab leak is a plumbing and insurance term used to refer to leaks that have occurred in the water lines that run under the concrete slab that makes up your home's foundation, hence the name. The constant flow of water causes damage to your foundation, and over time, the damage can extend to the surface of your foundation. When a leak has reached the surface of the foundation, it's referred to as a pinhole leak. Repairs must be made as soon as possible, otherwise the leak can compromise your entire foundation, and the cost to repair the foundation increases as the damage becomes more extensive.

Most people don't realize they have a slab leak until cracks have appeared in their foundation. By this time, it's already too late to get off without an expensive repair bill. However, if you know what to look for, you can detect a slab leak before the damage is done. Here are some clues to look for:

Repairing a slab leak is a time-consuming process that begins with a quick meter check. If movement is detected, we will check your system's water pressure. If the pressure test fails, we then proceed with an acoustic inspection using electronic equipment that's specially designed to listen for signs of running water. This helps us localize the problem. Once the problem has been localized, a special microphone is used to further pinpoint where the problem has occurred.

After the leak has been located, we use a signal generator and receiver to find out where the lines are run. Then we expose both ends of the line that's causing the problem, open a section of the slab and cap the line until it has been completely repaired.
